Church

Our established programs and activities continued to operate very successfully - to name a few: our Parish School had over 570 students; the Faith Formation Program for children in public schools grew to over 600 participants, and a number of children over 8 years of age and young adults completed their participation in the Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC), and together with adults who participated in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), were received into full communion with the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil; likewise, a number of adult members of our community completed their Christian initiation by receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. A number of other programs continued to serve needs in our community, such as bereavement, the poor and needy, blood drives, food collection (on the first Sunday of each month), sports for our youth, so many societies and groups, Pre-Cana sessions for couples from all over the Diocese who are getting married, etc...

Two new programs were begun: the priests have started celebrating a Mass - at least on a yearly basis - in the homes of homebound parishioners; hopefully, by the fall, all of those unable to leave their homes, and to whom Holy Communion is brought every Sunday by our dedicated extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, will be able to participate at a Mass in their home. Likewise, the group called Angels of Mercy has been started, made up of parishioners who participate at weekday Mass and who, instead of attending one of the scheduled parish Masses, join those who have lost loved ones at a Funeral Pass, offering the gifts of their presence and prayers, and representing the Parish at those events.

ADULT SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION

Becoming a Catholic: (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults-RCIA)
Do you know a family member or friend who is interested in becoming a Catholic?

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a wonderful process in our parish available to those who feel called to the Catholic Faith. New inquiry classes begin each fall.
The RCIA is also available for those Baptized Catholics who have not yet received First Eucharist and Confirmation.
The Process is a gathering with others to deepen your relationship with God and learn about the Catholic faith.

Confirmation or Communion for baptized Catholics who desire to complete the sacraments of initiation is also available.

Programs are offered in English and Spanish at various times and days of the week.
